Welcome Back!
Now That the Winter Break has come to an end, schools reopen once again.
Their doors welcome back students, teachers, parents and staff.
It is the beginning of a new year.
A chance to begin anew in the educational pathway that this year's class has been embarked upon since the first day of school late last August. All of us should feel rested, refreshed, and ready, to continue into the second half of the educational journey through the 2017-18 school year. We set our sights on that last day of school some time in June (or May), and begin to plan an approach towards this goal.
-How are we going to make it to the end?
-What approach are we willing to take?
-Who will be the guides who will help us along the way?
-What will it take to get promoted and advance to the next grade, or become a graduating member of the class of 2018?
This will be the last class with a direct link to the 20th century, whose future lies ahead entirely in the 21st century.
The challenges that they will face are most likely to be solved by those who can draw upon a diverse education experience covering multiple subjects and areas of knowledge. They will need to develop unique skills that adapt to new technologies, in a constantly changing world, where creative minds collaborate across time zones, geographic regions, cultural areas, and multiple languages.
